Citavi's Online Search feature allows you to search Gale databases from within Citavi. However, you should be aware of the following:
  1. No automatic detection
The feature Autodetect subscribed databases cannot detect which Gale databases your university subscribes to. To find out which databases you have access to, you will need to take a look at your university library website.
  2. Authentication by IP Address
In order to use Gale databases, your computer needs to be connected to your university network. If you're working off-site, you'll need to connect to your university network using a VPN connection.
  3. Additional authentication by "location-id"
Enter the "location-id" for your university in the Username field. Leave the Password field empty.
You most likely will not have direct access to the "location-id" for your university. If your university has a Citavi settings file, import it instead. This slideshow shows you how to do this.

If you are the contact person at your university for GALE databases, you should have access to the "location-id." The Citavi manual describes how to create and export a settings file.
