[#22011] Requesting a catalog or database as a provider

As a provider of databases or catalogs, it is in your best interest for your services to reach as broad an audience as possible. Citavi provides an additional avenue to your resources. Search results can be added to the user's project immediately, without having to switch between programs.

Citavi communicates with your database or catalog using the industry-standard Z39.50 protocol.

You decide who gains access to your resources. Citavi currently supports three authentication methods: IP address verification, username and password authentication, and the combination of both IP address and username and password.
For databases and catalogs that require authentication, please provide us with a temporary account for testing purposes.

Please provide us with the following details:

Your Z39.50 server

Database name

Record syntax

Character set

There is no cost to you for allowing us to add your database or catalog to Citavi.
As soon as we have all the necessary information, we create a connection file, called a "transformer". This contains the server details, information about the authentication requirements, and the supported search options (available fields, operators, and truncation options).
We maintain the transformers and offer them for download to our mutual customers. If you make any changes that change the information above, please let us know in advance so we can update the transformer on time.

Please contact us with any questions about transformers at service@citavi.com
