If Citavi rejects a license key, it is usually because of one of the following reasons:
  • You may be using an earlier version of Citavi. 
  • Capitalization did not match.
  • If you bought a personal license, you may have forgotten to enter Personal in the Organization box.
  • If you bought a personal license, you may have entered a date in the Valid until box, which is only necessary for site licenses.
