[#11041] Differences between Citavi Free, Pro, Team, and Reader

When you install Citavi, you first will be working with Citavi Free. With Citavi Free you can create solo projects and team projects with up to 100 references per project.* For solo projects with more than 100 references you are limited to read-only permission. Team projects with more than 100 references cannot be opened at all with Citavi Free. For this you need a Citavi Reader license. Citavi Free is available at no cost and is ideal for testing out Citavi's functions on smaller projects.

Citavi Pro is intended for users who need to read and modify solo projects of any size, read and modify team projects of up to 100 references, and read team projects with over 100 references.* If you have Citavi Pro you do not need a separate Citavi Reader license to view larger team projects.

Citavi Team is intended for users who need to read and modify team projects of any size and solo projects of any size.*

Citavi Reader is intended for users who only need to read, but not modify, team projects. Team projects with up to 100 references can be modified, though.*

* Please note that project managers or administrators can limit your project access, independent of the project size.

You can purchase a license for Citavi Pro, Citavi Team, or Citavi Reader.

If your organization has purchased a site license for Citavi, you can usually obtain a license key for Citavi Pro or Citavi Team at no cost. Check http://www.citavi.com/en/licenses.html to find out how you can acquire a Citavi license at your organization.
